What is the MultiCultural Recruiting Directory?
Over the years, MCDC has received numerous requests for assistance from companies and organizations for resources to help them in recruiting multicultural candidates. A common phrase uttered by recruiters and human resource professionals has been, "Our organization has begun a diversity process and is seeking to hire diverse candidates to fill our current openings; where can we find them?"
To find the best talent, recruiters need to cast a widest net possible to attract prospective employees. MCDC has created a MultiCultural Recruiting Directory that will greatly assist employers in creating a workforce that reflects the growing diversity of its customers and community. The Directory contains over 200 resources as well as useful information for employers:
- Information on how and where to place recruitment announcements;
- Tips on effective recruiting techniques and hiring strategies;
- Listings of internet resources to assist in recruiting diverse candidates;
- Listings of colleges and universities with significant student-of-color populations;
- Advertising and Image-Building suggestions;
- Effective use of multicultural media;
- Listings of search firms and employment agencies that recruit diverse candidates.
Members of the community will also benefit from this resource because they will have greater information about and access to jobs in organizations which value diversity and inclusion. The Directory will provide the following to employment seekers:
- Information regarding the art of networking
- Diversity job fair information
- Internet resources which serve specific ethnic community needs
- Lists of search firms and employment agencies
- Lists of "Employers of Choice"
