Education Services

MCDC holds a variety of events that serve to educate individuals from all backgrounds about various aspects of diversity.

  • MCDC Cultural Forums are designed to increase cultural awareness and understanding.  The Forums are used to expose participants to diverse cultures and cultural perspectives.  They are also designed to enhance workplace performance and to generate positive, informed communication between employees, clients and customers.  The Forums act to connect cultural leaders and community resources to corporations and organizations.  Most of these Forums are held in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area.
  • MCDC Workshops feature top-name speakers and consultants who give participants hard, skill-building tools that they can use in their workplaces and in their communities. Past workshop presenters include Dr. Roosevelt Thomas, Jane Elliott, Dr. Rita Boags, Dr. Samuel Betances, Dr. Edward Hubbard and Lee Mun Wah. MCDC workshops are open to local and national participants wishing to engage in skill-building and increase their competencies.
  • MCDC's Building Cultural Competencies DVD Training Program was created to build and develop individual and organizational competencies.  The Building Cultural Competencies Program provides educational and training opportunities to create awareness, understanding, and skill acquisition for maintaining an inclusive environment.  The MCDC multi-purpose training program can be used as a reference tool, a facilitated training session and as an individual training module.
